     Frame sliders, which are sometimes called frame protectors, fairing protectors or crash bobbins, are usually located and installed on the engine bolts on the left and right side fairings.  They maintain a motorcycle’s side fairings and internal components in the event of a crash, and prevent damage from dumping the bike.

     Bar sliders, which might be made from plastic or polymer, are sometimes added to motorcycle bar ends and front or rear axles. These sliders, also sometimes called fork sliders or swingarm sliders, reduce damage to the suspension components, wheels, and other parts during a crash by making contact with the ground before the rest of the bike does.
